FETE DES NEIGES

The Fête des neiges de Montréal, much more than snow!

Fête des neiges is Montréal's big winter festival where families are invited to come and play outdoors and enjoy an array of activities in the magical world of Parc Jean-Drapeau.

Naturally, the Fête's traditionally popular activities will be back: tube slide, zip-line, boot or ice hockey and skating along the river. Friendly mascot Boule de Neige will be welcoming visitors with his pals, who will be entertaining at the various activities, and dynamic comedian Yan England is again part of the festivities as the event's spokesperson. The Fête des neiges is definitely the place to be to discover and enjoy the many facets of winter in Montréal.

Club des petits déjeuners du Québec

Feed the kids!

For the first time, all of Astral Radio’s Quebec stations unite to put their strength behind the Club des petits déjeuners du Québec

Boucherville, January 30, 2012 – Starting today until February 23, 2012, the general public is invited to make a donation to the Club des petits déjeuners du Québec on the Club’s website or with their smartphone. This is an all-new and all-audacious fundraising campaign, supported by the strength of the Astral Radio network in Quebec.

For one month, the airwaves will be filled with talk about the Club!

Starting this morning, the Rouge fm and boom networks launch operation “Donnez pour déjeuner” (“Give for breakfast”) to benefit the Club des petits déjeuners du Québec. Radio stations CJAD 800 AM, Virgin Radio 96, CHOM 97 7 and NRJ will also put their airwaves to the service of the fundraising campaign for several days. Until February 23, 2012, the teams of radio personalities and the stations will devote themselves to this large-scale campaign. To give it even more of a boost, the Club can also count on three spokespeople from among the Astral Radio personalities: Joël Legendre from Rouge fm and José Gaudet and Julie St-Pierre from NRJ.

“We have supported the Club des petits déjeuners du Québec for twelve years and we intend to continue for a long time,” said Charles Benoît, Astral Radio Executive Vice-President. “This new campaign now enables us to move to another level and to open the Club to all of the Astral Radio stations in Quebec, including those in the anglophone market. This is the strength of our network, and we are delighted to put it to the service of children.”

To your keyboards, click and donate!

This first-time interactive campaign draws its strength from several platforms. From the media hype launched and maintained on Quebec’s Astral Radio stations for a month, to the radio personalities and spokespeople who invite people to participate generously in the campaign by using the interactive means of their choice:

-  by texting BREAKFAST at 45678 to make a donation of $5, debited from their cellphone account;

-  by going to the Club’s website clubdejeuners.org to make a donation on line

“We are especially privileged to be able to count on the strength of the Astral Radio network for an entire month,” explains Daniel Germain, President-Founder of the Club des petits déjeuners du Québec. “No other forum could have so raised awareness of the Club’s mission with the general public. And the best thing about all of this is that it is the children who will directly benefit. So we extend a big thank you to the Astral Radio team.”

A few words about the Club des petits déjeuners du Québec

When the Club des petits déjeuners du Québec was launched in 1994, Daniel Germain made it a point of honour to target disadvantaged areas rather than disadvantaged children to avoid stigmatising them. In this way, the ambience that prevails at the Club enables all the children to enjoy the pleasure of sharing a good breakfast with friends. And one good thing leads to another, as eating at school limits lateness, calms aggression and reduces absences. Last year, thanks to all the donations collected throughout the province and thanks to numerous partners, the 3,500 Club volunteers welcomed 18,000 children and served no less than 2.5 million breakfasts in 297 Quebec schools. All these children were able to start their day with a smile, a full stomach and an alert mind.
