Album Review

A continually intriguing record, this outing by drummer Beaver Harris is most notable for featuring two underrated and often overlooked but talented advanced improvisers: trombonist Grachan Moncur III and Ken McIntyre (heard on alto, bassoon and flute). With pianist Rahn Burton and bassist Cameron Brown completing the quintet, the group plays five complex group originals that clearly inspire the talented players. Recommended to followers of post-bop jazz.
