The Just Us
duo consisted of Chip Taylor
-- most famous for writing "Wild Thing" and "Angel of the Morning" -- and Al Gorgoni
, most noted for his many contributions as a session musician and producer. In the mid-'60s, they made a rare album for Kapp, I Can't Grow Peaches On a Cherry Tree
, which certainly contained nothing on the order of "Wild Thing" or even "Angel of the Morning," though most of the material was original. Instead, it was tame and even subdued pop-folk that sometimes verged on easy listening vocals, with little rock influence (although there were some drums) and occasional strings.
