Legendary Queen frontman Freddie Mercury is set to become an Angry Bird to celebrate the annual Freddie For A Day event.  Freddie For A Day was the brainchild of Liz Swanton, web editor of the Mercury Phoenix Trust, the AIDS charity set up in Freddie's name in 1992. Swanton, a City of London Banker, once raised over £1,200 by spending a working day dressed as Freddie.

Now in its third year, the annual fundraising event celebrates Freddie’s birthday – September 5 – by encouraging fans to dress like the Queen singer while raising money for the charity, which is spent fighting HIV/AIDS worldwide.

Freddie For A Day and gamemaker Rovio Entertainment have teamed up this year to make Mercury an honorary member of the Angry Birds family. To raise additional awareness for the Mercury Phoenix Trust, Angry Birds - in partnership with Bravado - will be releasing a limited-edition Freddie Mercury Angry Bird T-shirt which will be made available from the Angry Birds and Bravado webstores. A portion of the proceeds will be donated to the Mercury Phoenix Trust.
