POUTINE WEEK: Read about my "best poutine" experience in CULT MTL!!

It’s “Poutine Week MTL” in the city, which means that from Feb 1st-7th , there’s even more reason to enjoy Quebec’s greasiest and greatest export!  In response to last year’s “Burger Week MTL”.. 30 participating restaurants in Montreal are adding special poutines to their menu for only $10 with some available in a $5 sample size.  Many chefs spent weeks coming up with these gourmet combinations from foie gras to porchetta and even tropical flowers!

I was approached by Tracey Lindeman (Founding Editor) of CULT MTL, a local web publication made up of most of the existing members of the now defunct Montreal Mirror magazine for my “best poutine story”.. so how did I come across one of the best kept secrets in the city?

Read my story along with contributions from local celebs in this week’s CULT MTL et bon appetit!

Hey Bilal. One of the craziest poutines I've ever had was a poutine burger. They make them at Dukes and Divines in Vaudreuil. The cheese, fries and sauce are put into a batter (like a fish)and placed on top of a burger. The first bite is a mess but oh so good. The owner told me it is not a first date meal lol.You gotta try it one day.ENJOY.

    Bilal,

I highly recommend you try PoutineVille if you haven't already...with over 70 million (you read correctly) possible "build your own" poutine combinations, or one from the menu like .."le Filet Mignon" in 3 pepper sauce, or "Le Montréalais - Smoked meat, Swiss cheese, mushrooms served with a fried pickle....then there is the "Heart Attack" - a 15lbs poutine that can feed a good 8 people....(it is HUGE).. I'm certain you will find something to your liking...I highly suggest getting one with the crushed potato fries (house specialty)...

    Enjoy...
