So many surprises at this years Jazz Fest!!! So lucky to have this Festival, where you can walk around stage to stage - outdoors and discover so much great music!!! I had no idea who Bradleyboy MacArthur was until I stumbled upon his one-man show the other night on The Loto Quebec Blues Stage.. Raw, craggy-blues - deep & dirty just the way I like it - real foot stompin' blues!!! And that's just what he did on a "suitcase" base drum and other instruments he created himself - gotta check this guy out!!! (see below) Also, big blast from the past with Fishbone on Canada Day at The S.A.T... With more electricity than I can remember these guys ripped through some classic hits "Bonin' In The Boneyard" etc., right up to their new album (which came out last year called Crazy Glue). Wicked mix of ska, punk, funk, reggae and thrash and all the moshin'/stage diving you can handle!!! Then came the Miles Davis Tribute Miles Smiles - huge surpise smash for me... but I'll let the music do the talking for these guys!! Dig it, below & BON FESTIVAL!!!! --BC
