BEATLES IN MONTREAL!!!

Now THIS is an exhibit I wanna check out!! --BC

The Beatles' only visit to Montreal is the basis of a new exhibit. The city's Pointe-a-Calliere Museum displays guitars, pictures and other mementos, including John Lennon’s Rolls-Royce, accompanied by a recording of the group's September 1964 shows at the Montreal Forum.

Unlike other cities The Beatles visited, their Montreal stay was far less joyful. There was a language barrier in the predominantly French-speaking city. Prejudice reared its ugly head as Ringo Starr, mis-identified as Jewish, was the subject of a death threat. John Lennon was quoted as recalling a heavy police presence. Neither the afternoon or evening show sold out the 13,500 seat venue. They didn't even stay the night, instead flying to Florida after the second show.

Montreal's place in Beatles history did improved later. John and Yoko recorded "Give Peace a Chance" there during their Bed-In for Peace, ...

WATCH/LISTEN: David Bowie - Now That's More Like It!!

Posted By: Brandon Craddock · 2/27/2013 2:11:00 AM

David Bowie's released the second single/video from his new album The Next Day, called The Stars (Are Out Tonight)... YUP!! He's back on "the star trip" (thank god!!)  Happy to say, sounding way more like what we're used to.. The track is now available at iTunes and the video is streaming on the net. The clip was directed by Floria Sigismondi, who filmed previous Bowie videos "Little Wonder" in 1996 and "Dead Man Walking" in '97.

The latest clip, which is as bizarre as a David Lynch movie, features Bowie along with female lookalike, actress Tilda Swinton, who plays Bowie's wife. Norwegian model Iselin Steiro also appears, playing a younger version of the Thin White Duke. The Next Day is out on March 11th. Way to keep it weird David!! --BC
