Nintendo Announces 3DS XL
Last night, Nintendo revealed that they are releaseing an updated version of the 3DS though a Nintendo Direct conference.
The new version is appropriately named the 3DS XL due to its larger screen size (90% bigger than the current DS model). The top screen will be 4.88 inches while the lower will be 4.18 inches. It is set to retail at $199.99 and be relased on August 19th, in time for Super Mario Bros 2 game that was announced at E3.
Other notable specs include:
- System ships with a 4GB SD card
- Will come in black, red and blue colors
- Longer battery life
- In Japan Nintendo is selling the device without the AC addapter, but lucky us, we get it in the box

What I don't undersand is why Nintendo didn't they announce this at E3? It would have made their conference and participation at E3 seem so much bigger.
