Wii U rumours: possible release date in November? Duh!

Nintendo has yet to release an official launch date for its new console the Wii U but the company did say it would be sometime during Fall 2012. Most gaming websites are projecting an mid-November release. Not to mention a Japanese retailer apparently leaked a press release stating the console would hit the shelves  on November 18th in North America. The original Wii launched on November 19th, 2006 so it's only logical to assume a similar date for the Wii U. Gamestop is also already taking preorders for Wii U games. All of them have a release date set for December 31st except for Ben 10 Omniverse which is apparently set to be released on November 13th.

Now I think all of this speculating is useless. Why? Because November has always been a key month when it comes to video game release. Heck! It's important for anybody producing consumer goods of any kind! Because of the Holidays. But most importantly, because of Black Friday which is a staple in Holiday shopping. I know some of us canucks even make the trip down to Burlington or Plattsburgh every year to take part in the madness. We can spend all our energy trying to figure out the exact day the Wii U will be released but it's a waste; we all know it will a few days before November 23rd anyway.

The best thing to do if you absolutely want to buy a Wii U on release, is to sign up to your favourite gaming store's newsletter - of follow them on social media - so they may notify you when you can put in a pre-order.

Will you be getting a Wii U? I'm seriously considering it mostly because I do not own a Wii. Since the Wii U is backwards compatible with Wii games and accessories, I'll be able to borrow my friend's stuff. For example, I could finally play The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword and possibly finish Twilight Princess. Or try my hand a Mario Kart 7.

But what about the games? The list of games to be released along with the Wii U is long and ever evolving. Here are some of the outstanding titles:
