During this morning's Nintedo Direct Conference, Nintendo confirm that an HD Legend of Zelda title will be released for the WiiU. Franchise producer Eiji Aonuma said that they are "rethinking the conventions of Zelda" and are "returning to basics". They aren't making another single player only game which is essentially a series of dungeons that need to be completed in a set order. The grapic style is also being rethought for HD optimisation and looks nothing like what was shown at E3 2011. Very few details were given since the game is still in its early stages but one thing's for sure, I will be awaiting eagerly for the release of this game.

Nintendo also announced that it will be releasing a remake of Wind Waker for WiiU sometime this fall. The game, originally released for the Gamecube,  will of course be in HD and will incorporate Gamepad functionnalities. Nintendo also mentionned they will tweak the user experience but have yet to elaborate on what those changes wil be.

Nintendo also confirmed that they are working on a new Super Smash Bros, a Mario Kart and a 3D Mario game for WiiU. The first screens and demos will be revealed at this E3 2013, taking place this July. 3D Mario will be developped by the same team that worked on Super Mario Galaxy, Super Mario Galaxy 2 and Super Mario 3D Land while Namco Bandai will be working on the new Mario Kart. A new Yoshi's Land, rumoroed to be a 2D platformer, is also in the works for the WiiU.

We'll be expecting more details on all of this future releases this Summer during the E3 Nintendo Press Conference.
