*VIDEO* Watch_Dogs announced for PS4
Last night during the #PlayStation2013 press conference, Ubisoft revealed that its much anticipated new IP, Watch_Dogs, is going to be available at the launch of the PlayStation 4.
Lead by the Ubisoft team in Montreal with support from the teams in Bucharest, Paris, Quebec and Reflections studios, Watch_Dogs illustrates Ubisoft's ambition to be at the forefront of technology to create entertainment experiences that are both ambitious and extraordinary.
Watch_Dogs places the player in a version of Chicago, not to far from the real city today, where all of society is connected through the Internet. Both individuals and corporations rely on the networks and technology to run the city and their lives and in turn run the risk of exposure and attack.
You play as Aiden Pearce, a vigilante who can hack into Chicago's central operating system (called ctOS in the game) with his cell phone to obtain control of every connected device in the city's architecture. You will have the ability to hijack security cameras, download personal information to locate a target, control systems such as traffic lights or public transportation to stop a chase, and more. Chicago becomes the ultimate weapon.
“Ubisoft has a strong history of supporting new technologies with unique and creative offerings,” said Yves Guillemot, chief executive officer, Ubisoft. “The power and capability of the PS4 allows the Watch_Dogs team to further push the boundaries of what was previously thought possible in interactive entertainment.”
Watch_Dogs will be available on the PS4 at launch as well as PS3, Xbox 360. WiiU and Windows PC. You can find out more info on the game from the official website and their facebook page.
