The Six Things You Need To Know About the iPhone 5

Apple unveiled the iPhone 5 yesterday.  It's got a bigger screen, runs on 4G wireless, is thinner and lighter than the previous one and costs the same.  Also, they redesigned the power cord so all of your old cords won't work.  Preorders on the phone start tomorrow, and it officially goes on sale a week from tomorrow.

#1.)  The screen is bigger . . . four inches versus 3.5 inches.

#2.)  It's sleeker . . . it's 18% thinner and 20% lighter than the previous iPhone.

#3.)  It has more features:  It can do 4G wireless speeds, and it has a better camera, a faster processor, and a stronger battery.

#4.)  In spite of all the improvements, the price is exactly the same.  The 16-gigabyte version is $199, and goes up to $399 for the 64-gig version.

#5.)  It has a new power cord, with a smaller input.  So you know all those white cords you've got?  They won't work with the new iPhone.  Apple will happily sell you an adapter  but it's $29.  They also redesigned the earphones.

#6.)  Preorders start tomorrow, and it officially goes on sale a week from tomorrow.  It's available on AT&T, Verizon, and Sprint.
