People often criticize the ending of "Titanic", because the plank that KATE WINSLET survives on could have EASILY fit both her and LEONARDO DICAPRIO, meaning his character didn't have to die. Director JAMES CAMERON says that even though they could have both fit, the plank wouldn't have held them both.  Thus, there was no getting around the fact that one of them had to die. James also said he thinks the guys from the show "Mythbusters" are going to do a segment on this very conundrum and he wants to help them prove it once and for all. I'm so glad I know that now b/c it always bothered me!!
