It's nice to make the Honor Roll, isn't it?  September was a pretty good month for the Alouettes as a team, and a couple of 'em have been recognized.  Congratulations to Anthony Calvillo and Ben Cahoon! Check it out...

Toronto, ON (Sports Network) - Montreal teammates Anthony Calvillo and Ben Cahoon, B.C.'s Cam Wake and Toronto's Dominique Dorsey were named CFL Players of the Month for September.

Calvillo, the Als' veteran quarterback, completed 116-of-166 passes with an average of 345 yards per game and tallied 10 touchdowns to only four interceptions in September to garner offensive honors. His slick passing led Montreal to a 3-1 record in the month.

What are they recording??

This is Toronto Symphony Orchestra during recording sessions for a song that's being brought back to Canadians... a song that most of us could hum if asked... a religion for some... it's considered our second national anthem... what song is it??

John Bonham was 32 when he died.  Led Zeppelin was getting ready to tour North America when they lost their friend and one of the greatest rock drummers ever.  Check out the two part video proof of that greatness live.

and now part 2...

We talked about it being Jim Henson's birthday on September 24th during the Electric Lunch Hour, and it got me thinking about how good Josh Groban did on singing the medley of tv theme songs on the Emmys the other night.  INCREDIBLE!!  AND there's a Muppet appearance too!  Check it out!

Here's another peek back with some vintage Led Zeppelin interview video.  It's kinda funny to see that Brits (some, not all) didn't seem ready for Led Zeppelin's success even though it was happening right in front of them... and the world.

Here's some old Led Zeppelin interview footage.  (I suppose that it should go without saying that it's "old" what with Plant and Page looking much younger AND the whole Led Zeppelin not being together for almost thirty years.)  It's a cool look back just the same.  An interesting peek at them finally getting their hometown due; getting to the top of the charts... a spot usually held by The Beatles... gasp!!

Why??

Why do people wait for the elevator right outside the door??  And why do they look surprised to see someone inside when the doors open?? But then they also still try to plow right by you to get inside, like there gonna miss their chance at going somewhere.  Come on now, you're going to get to work, school, your appointment, or whatever is waiting for you on whatever floor, but let us out first.  In a sort of 'out with the old' mentality, you have to empty the box before you put more in to it.  That's my deep thought... on elevators and life... for today.  =D

The "Beat" goes on...

Here's the cover of Jack Kerouac's "On The Road."  It was a must-read for the post-war Beat Generation... jazz, poetry and experimental drugs.  When drugs were pure... don't try it at home... I mean read the book, but don't do drugs.
