Record Store Day is here (shouldn't they start having Record Player Day now...I mean how many of us still have a working turntable? Just sayin'). Here's the guide I was mentioning on the air from Gibson.com to what's out there for you to buy.

Star Trek Hates The Planet!!!

Posted By: Rob Kemp · 3/25/2013 1:02:00 PM

Ok "hate" might be too strong of a word but I'm not the only one that found it strange that Paramount would choose "Earth Hour" to promote Star Trek Into Darkness with a giant 300ft tall Starfleet logo...made of lights! 30 LED lights were carried into place by remote helicopter drones and as London went dark, they light up right over the Tower Bridge.

I guess the argument is that LED lights use less energy...but still...Earth Hour?!?! Reaction has been, as you can imagine, less than good.

Check out the video for yourself.

Muse - Warchild Webcast

Posted By: Rob Kemp · 2/16/2013 3:24:00 PM

Muse returns to London to headline the 2013 Brit Awards in support of War Child’s 20th anniversary. The benefit concert will take place at the historic theater, O2 Shepherd’s Bush Empire. The concert having sold out in less than three minutes so this is the only way to watch Muse’s performance...unless of course you were able to get them (and a plane ticket) in that three minutes. The webcast can be seen live via War Child’s YouTube channel, Monday, February 18 at 4 pm EST / 1 pm PST.

War Child is a group of 27 individuals working in north London with the single goal of aiding children of war-torn areas. The non-profit organization provides medical care and safe havens, rebuilds schools and helps children get their voices heard.

Bands that have previously played the War Child concert include Coldplay, The Killers, Blur and Kasabian.

Pretty Sure They Weren't Expecting This At The Symphony

Posted By: Rob Kemp · 10/29/2012 6:25:00 PM

German composer Johannes Kreidler displayed his inner "The Who" when, as a protest to the merging of two of Germany's Symphonies, tied a violin to a cello, gave a protest speech...and then smashed the two instruments stunning the crowd and walking off covered in pieces of instrument!

He starts smashing at the 3 minute mark...until then its all German to me.
