We are really lucky here in Canada to have an awesome gaming community. Wether it be kick ass development studios, special events and conventions or just us gamer geeks playing online, there is always something cool going on on the Canadian video game landscape.
For those of you who live in the Toronto area or are planning a trip in the next few weeks, you need to check out the game festival: Gamercamp.
From November 1st to 3rd, Gamercamp is hijacking the entire Hotel Ocho in downtown Toronto and converting it into a massive arcade. All four floors of the hotel, including the restaurant, bedrooms and suites, will be filled with video game awesomness.
Every type of gamer will feel at home at Gamercamp. Wanna try out a PlayStation 4 and eight launch games two weeks before they hit stores? Gamercamp has that on lock. Independent games more your cup of tea? Check out the hottest upcoming indies including many from Toronto, North America and Europe. Want to relax and go analog? Chill out in the all-day Board Game Cafe, stocked with new and classic board games. There are also tons of inspiring talks, panels, presentations, gameplay session, demos, films, game jamming and arcades showcasing the depth and talent of the North American games community.
There is also going to be an excellent exhibition, Art of the Ninja, which will take you through a historic journey of the significance of ninjas in games over 30+ years. 13 iconic video games such as Shinobi, Tenchu, and Canadian developed titles Mark of the Ninja and N++ will be featured.
For all the details, check out gamercamp.ca. If you're attending Gamercamp, send us your pics and videos through twitter (@thegirlsongames), facebook (facebook.com/thegirlsongames) or instagram (@girlsongames) so we may be totally jalous of you and have fun!
