Along with announcing their new game streaming service PlayStation Now yesterday, Sony also released some of their PlayStation 4 sale data to date during the CES conference.
4.2 million PlayStation 4 consoles have been sold between launch on November 15th and December 28th, 2013. This surpasses the 3 million units sold for the Xbox One, which was released a few days before.
Sony also announced that 9.7 million PS4 games have been sold to date, which rounds to about 2.3 games per console. The best selling games are Call of Duty: Ghosts, Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag, Battelfield 4, Fifa 14 and Killzone: Shadow Fall.
Pretty interesting numbers since PlayStation 4 has not yet released in Japan, Sony’s home country. It will be exiting to see how the numbers rise after it hits Japanese store shelves on February 22nd.
