For those of you, like me, who are in the middle of Dead Rising 3, an update is now available for download in preparation for today's release of the game's first downloadable content (DLC), 'Operation Broken Eagle'.
Microsoft and Capcom Vancouver recommend you install the update prior to downloading the new DLC for a better overall experience. The update will improve game play by installing some performance and stability upgrades, fix issues related to achievements, updates the UI, SmartGlass updates and more. It also adds a new impulse trigger feature that notifies players when they are running low on ammo.
The new DLC 'Operation Broken Eagle' is part of a larger series of downloadable content for Dead Rising 3 called the 'Untold Stories of Los Perdidos'. It is a single player mission where you act as Spec Ops Commander Adam Kane, who is on a mission that challenges everything he believes and sets him out to capture the missing President of the United States. The DLC will cost you $9.99 and features a new mission, five new weapons, one new combo weapon, one new vehicle, a new clothing outfit, plus additional Gamerscore and the ability to carry experience points back to the main game.
Some stats from Dead Rising 3 have also been released. Since the game's launch in November, 16 billion zombies have been killed in game, which works out to more than twice the world population of people. Gamers have also logged more than 14 million hours of gameplay.
For fans of the living dead, a Season Pass will also be available for the game. Get 'Operation Broken Eagle' and 3 upcoming content packs for $29.99. Works out to be a 25% discount on all the DLC if bought separately.
