WATCH: Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor Gameplay Walkthrough

Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor
WB Games / Monolith Productions

WB Games and Monolith Productions just release a Gameplay Walkthrough video of the upcoming action adventure game Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor. The events of the game are said to bridge the gap between The Hobbit and The Lord of The Rings.

At first sight, the game mechanics seem to incorporate Assassin's Creed's stealth, Batman: Arkham City's combat and Dishonored's supernatural abilities and revenge-driven story.

A key features that really sticks out from this walkthrough is the Nemesis System, which shapes the nature of each of your encounters. Depending on your decisions made while playing and past events, enemies will act accordingly and the world will be directly affected. We've seen similar mechanics in Mass Effect, Knights of the Old Republic and Dishonored to name a few. However, Shadow of Mordor's Nemesis System looks more evolved and more flexible.

The Ring Wraith abilities will permit you not only to shift in between the shadow and the real world but also infiltrate Mordor by turning enemies into minions, building an army behind enemy lines. From the looks of it, there is also some cool battle moves using the wraith powers.

As an action-adventure fan, I'll definitely be on the look out for this game. There is no set date of its release but it should be coming out later this year for PC, Xbox One, Xbox 360, PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 3.
