There is an official Xbox One Stereo Headset coming this March. Xbox’s Major Nelson states in his blog that the Stereo Headset pairs a premium, full-range (20Hz-20kHz) audio experience. It has a unidirectional microphone that uses the Skype-powered audio chat codec. The packaging also contains a detachable Stereo Headset Adapter that has all the audio controls at your fingertips. You will be able to easily change the master volume level, mute the mic and adjust individual chat levels. No worries about needing to keep a spare set of AA batteries around. The Xbox One Stereo Headset doesn’t need them. It is powered directly from the Xbox One controller. The headset also works with most mobile devices, tablets and computers. Save up $79.99 to buy your own.
If you want to attach your own headset to the Xbox One, you will be able to purchase the Stereo Headset Adapter separately at $24.99. A list of compatible headsets is available here.
