Team Dakota’s game-creation video game “Project Spark” is getting an official release date for the Xbox One and Windows 8.1 on October 7th in North America. Aspiring game developers, get ready!
The Xbox One disc edition, aptly named “Project Spark Starter Pack”, is retailed at $39.99USD and will be packed full of premium content such as:
“an epic campaign adventure ‘Champions Quest’, the first sci-fi pack ‘Galaxies: First Contact’, Hakon ‘Hawk’ the Knight, and more”. A digital download version for both the Xbox One and PC will be available for download same day and same price as the disc edition.
Newcomers to Project Spark will enjoy both the beta content, which is free, and the goodies packed into the Starter Pack. As for those who have already created fantastical worlds, the October 7th release will simply act as an update. Everything earned, created and imagined will carry over.
As a side note, for those who remember Microsoft’s Project Spark presentation during E3, there has been no word yet on whether Rare’s beloved vulgar squirrel Conker will make an appearance within the Starter Pack, or he’ll be added in the future through a DLC. Once the little dude shows up, he’ll be a (awesome) playable character.
If you’re interested in joining the “Project Spark” world before its official release, the beta program is still up and running and you can interact with millions of other creators at www.projectspark.com or follow the conversation on twitter with #projectspark or via their Facebook page.
