Great may be too extravagant a term for this ten-song compilation. Entertaining would be appropriate. The set is culled from cuts released by Big Youth's own Negusa Negast label, mostly from the late '70s through the very early '80s. So, obviously this set does not capture the DJ at the height of his prowess, but still contains some worthwhile material. The highlight is the provocative "Green Bay Killing," a 1978 hit that angrily dealt with the slaying of a group of Rastafarians by Jamaican troops. Read More
