Sonny Stitt - Goin' Down Slow

Sonny Stitt was in one of his prime periods during the early '70s and this LP finds him in particularly creative form. Best is the 14-minute "Miss Ann, Lisa, Sue and Sadie" which features Stitt, trumpeter Thad Jones, guitarist Billy Butler and pianist Hank Jones soloing over a small string section; Jones's arrangement is quite memorable.
