Bundling up another batch of U-roy's early recordings, With Words Of Wisdom is the companion album to Version Galore, and gathers up more of his cuts for producer Duke Reid. Here are the DJ's other two break-out hits, his debut smash "Wake the Town," a version of Alton Ellis' "Girl I've Got a Date," and "Rule the Nation," a version of the Techniques' "Love Is Not a Gamble." As Galore showcased a clutch of versions of Paragons' songs, this time there is only one, Paragon John Holt's "Merry Go Round." And in contrast to the usual rocksteady vocal trio offerings, a pair of songs by Hopeton Lewis and a second by Alton Ellis provide the perfect platform for the DJ to chatter along in duet. Read More
