Back in 1994, when the producers of the Collectables budget reissue label decided to give the world the complete Bobbin recordings of Little Milton and Clayton Love, someone decided that 21 two- to three-minute tracks could be stretched out onto two compact discs. Vol. 2 contains a whopping total of ten titles; thankfully, each selection is pleasingly potent. Cuts one through seven feature Little Milton backed by lots of horns -- it's worth listening for the unidentified saxophonist on "Let It Be Known," and the equally anonymous vibraphonist on "My Baby Pleases Me." Choice cuts are the rockin' "Long Distance Operator" and a tasty slow grind with the intriguing title "Strange Dreams." For a good example of Milton's emulative allegiance to B.b. King..... Read More
