Monumentally more mature then their first pop-punk styled record, the second and final release from Albertson, NY's Latex Generation has a much more indie rock-fueled sound, and came as a welcome progression. With hints of everything from Superchunk to The Promise Ring, this 12-track outing ends up being both witty and well-played. The group's newest addition, drummer Brian "Alien," is an appreciated addition with some fast fills and propulsive beats, and singer and guitarist Joe Latex seems to have a better grip on the vocals this time around, contributing hearty screams as well as his dependable Archers Of Loaf-meet-Poison guitar riffs.
