I Love You But I've Chosen Darkness' debut self-titled EP was produced by Britt Daniel of Spoon. That takes care of the major reference point right away. The bands share a sparse, tense sound and I Love You But I've Chosen Darkness has a similar knack for crafting songs with jagged and sticky hooks. The six tracks on the record are all tough, angular, and new wave influenced (Wire, Echo, The Cure); "We're Still the Weaker Sex" and "When You Go Out" are the strongest, but "Your Worst Is the Best" simply thrills with its heartbreaking melody and breathtaking keyboard breaks. Read More
