A budget two-disc set, Blues Guitar Legends couples a disc of J.b. Lenoir's mid-'50s recordings for JOB Records with a second disc of Magic Sam's late-'50s tracks with Cobra Records, and his early-'60s work with Chief Records. The Lenoir material collected here is rougher and not as fully formed as his later work, but the Magic Sam cuts capture the showman guitarist in peak form.
