Producer Michael Barbiero has worked with Ziggy Marley, Scritti Politti, Tesla, Chris Whitley, Scare, and Steve Thompson and he's co-produced The Alarm, Exposé, Anthrax, Blues Traveler, and Joe Cocker, among others. His skills as a remixer have been heard on hits by Whitney Houston ("I Wanna Dance With Somebody [Who Loves Me]"), Mick Jagger ("Let's Work"), The Jets ("Rocket 2 U"), and Simply Red ("Money's Too Tight [To Mention]") just to name a few.
Barbiero was born June 25, 1949, in Long Island, NY. He was a remixer during the disco era. Steve Thompson was familiar with Barbiero's work and tapped his versatile services when he was in search of an engineer. Teaming, the two had dance hits, then decided to concentrate on rock, with Geffen Records band City Kids being their first project. The band evolved into Tesla. Other acts produced by Barbiero are Gov't Mule and Jono Manson Band.
