Once upon a time in the fairytale town of San Diego, more than a few musically inclined youngsters heard John Moore playing in a pizza parlor. The sound of his mandolin and the enchantment of the instrument itself lingered in their minds, an aesthetic burp that cannot simply be blamed on indigestion. Moore's tone and technique have been frequently praised in language more often used in connection with classical virtuosos, one of many justifications for his career heating up well beyond the temperature of a pizza oven, so to speak.
