POSTPONED

Well it had to happen at some point... You know - winter - kicking in.... Knew it was coming, just didn't want to think about it!?! So now, here we are the coldest night of the year - just in time for the weekend... Kinda funny how gas shot up 9 cents overnight, eh??? I mean, hey it's the weekend, it's cold as @#$#%: why not jack up the @#$% gas prices!!? Perfectly reasonable, right?! WRONG?!!!

Ok that feels better... Very important -- if you won Jay Peak tickets this week, you must know that we have postponed the day up at Jay.. Too brutally cold right here in the city - on top of one of the highest mountains in the Appalachians.... No way!!! So it probably works out better for ya!! I've been told that you (prize winner) will be given the choice of coming down to Jay (when re-scheduled) or picking a different mountain (that we will be going to..) If you need more info on this, please call 514-931-2466 (CHOM) Monday through Friday (8.30 to 5.30pm)...

WORST EVER?!?!?

Love to hear your thoughts on this... Can't say that I agree with this but what do YOU think... Drop me a note at Brandon@Chom.com...

Peter Frampton's monster 1976 album Frampton Comes Alive ruined music -- at least according to Spike.com. The site says, "The fact that Frampton Comes Alive went on to become the biggest-selling live album ever in such a short period of time showed that there was big money to be made in music... It ushered in the era of pop stars and turned musicians into products and brands overnight."

Other highlights in the Top 10:

  • 4. Nirvana's Nevermind: "The album's overwhelming success single-handedly destroyed hair metal and ushered in a whole new musical movement known as grunge... Puddle of Mudd and Staind are great examples of a bands that totally [freaking] blew it."
  • 5. Van Halen: "Van Halen One...single-handedly helped usher in the glam metal - hair metal era that ruled the entire 1980s. Even though Van Halen destroys almost every single band of this genre, their undeniable influence helped create a butt-load of trash that totally devolved rock."
  • 8. Bob Marley's Legend: "The image of the reggae star that took shape after his death turned his deep musical philosophy into a corporate brand bought and sold at college campuses all around the world."
  • 9. Guns n' Roses' Appetite for Destruction: Appetite for Destruction kicked lame-ass hair-metal douches to the curb and showed the world what a real rock band was supposed to be... Somehow acts like Buckcherry and Hinder took heavy influences from this band and created some of the most horrific watered-down pop-rock ever heard.

The Top 10 albums that ruined music:

1) Peter Frampton -- Frampton Comes Alive

6) Beastie Boys - Paul's Boutique

2) Michael Jackson -- Thriller

7) Sex Pistols - Never Mind the Bollocks, Here's The Sex Pistols

3) N-W-A - Straight Outta Compton

8) Bob Marley -- Legend

4) Nirvana -- Nevermind

9) Guns N' Roses - Appetite for Destruction

5) Van Halen - Van Halen

10) Rage Against the Machine - Rage Against the Machine
